Interstitial campaign setup

Set up a full-screen interstitial campaign on UluMob, billed per thousand rendered impressions, with one image per ad.

An interstitial is a full-screen ad shown between two pages of a publisher's site. The visitor closes it with one tap, so the image has to make the offer clear at a glance. See Interstitial.

Pricing

Pricing model Current default floor Charged when
CPM $0.20 per 1,000 impressions The ad renders

CPM is the only pricing model for interstitials. Country floors can be higher; see the traffic volume page. The current default minimum daily budget is $15.

You pay when the ad is actually shown. The engine issues a signed render beacon with each ad and bills when it arrives, once per beacon.

What each ad needs

Field Required Limit
Destination URL Yes http or https, up to 2,048 characters, macros allowed
Image Yes JPG, PNG, GIF or WebP, up to 1024 KB, 100x50 to 4000x4000 pixels
Title No Up to 60 characters
Description No Up to 45 characters
Third-party impression pixel No https only

Use a portrait image such as 1080x1920 for mobile and a landscape image such as 1920x1080 for desktop. Ads inside one campaign share its targeting, so if you buy both mobile and desktop, run one campaign per device type, each with the matching image.

Set up the campaign

  1. Go to /app/advertiser/campaigns/new.
  2. In Basics, choose Interstitial. The pricing model is CPM.
  3. Enter your bid and daily budget.
  4. Choose countries in Geo and devices in Traffic.
  5. In Advanced, set a frequency cap. Interstitials interrupt browsing, and a low cap protects both your budget and the visitor.
  6. In Ads, enter the destination URL and choose or upload the Image.
  7. Add a title and description if you want them shown with the image.
  8. Select Create campaign.

Creative rules

  • The image must not imitate the close control, a system dialog or a device warning.
  • The offer in the image is the offer on the landing page.
  • Ads that make the close control hard to find are refused in review.

See Review and approval for what happens when an ad is refused.

Tracking

Interstitials are bought on CPM, so conversions are reported but not charged. Add {click_id} to the destination URL and set up a postback to see which zones deliver results:

https://tracker.example/c?cid={click_id}&zone={zone_id}&device={device}

See Postback setup.

Tips

  • Start with one impression per visitor per day and raise the cap only if later impressions still convert.
  • Mobile apps and games are a natural fit for full-screen placements.
  • Use Smart CPM to pay one cent above the next bid instead of your full bid.
