What you pay for
CPM means cost per thousand impressions. The question that matters is what counts as an impression. On UluMob, asking for an ad costs nothing. The charge happens when the render beacon arrives:
- Banners and cards: the tag fires the beacon once at least half of the ad is on screen.
- Banner iframes: the beacon is a 1x1 image inside the banner document, so it loads only with the banner.
- Video: the beacon is listed as the VAST impression, so the player calls it when it shows the ad.
- Popunder and redirect: the open is the impression, billed when the visitor reaches your page.
Each beacon carries a signed, single-use token. It counts once however often a page fires it, and tokens older than 30 minutes are ignored. An ad that scrolls into view later on the same page still counts, within that window.
Formats sold per thousand
| Format | CPM floor (default) | Other pricing |
|---|---|---|
| Popunder | $0.10 | CPA |
| Banner | $0.05 | CPA |
| Interstitial | $0.20 | none |
| Domain redirect | $0.50 | none |
| In-stream video | $0.50 | CPV |
| Telegram Mini Apps | $0.10 | CPC |
These are the default floors. Many countries carry their own minimum, shown per format and country on the traffic volume page. When you target several countries, the highest floor among them applies, and you can raise the bid for individual countries on each ad.
Smart CPM: pay the clearing price
Every ad request runs an auction ranked by eCPM. With a fixed CPM bid you pay your bid each time you win. With smart CPM you set a maximum and pay one cent above the next best bid, never more than your maximum and never below the zone's reserve.
That means you can bid high enough to win the inventory you want without paying that price on every impression where the competition is thinner. It is the simplest way to test a new country: set a generous maximum, watch the effective CPM in reports, then adjust.
What you never pay for
CPM only works when impressions are real. Before any auction runs, requests from known bots and from one IP address hammering one zone faster than a person browses are refused: no ad is served and no money moves. If your budget or balance runs out between the request and the render, the impression is logged at zero cost rather than charged.
You also control your own exposure:
- Frequency caps per visitor, for example one popunder a day
- Daily and total budgets, with optional even spreading across the day
- Zone blacklists and whitelists built from your own reports
- Day-parting by hour and weekday
Measure beyond the impression
CPM is a way to buy, not a way to judge. Put {click_id} in your destination URL, send conversions back by postback, and reports show cost per conversion next to CPM for every zone and country. Read more on conversion tracking, or open an account and launch a test from $15 a day.
