Launch your first campaign

Walk through the five steps of the UluMob campaign form, from format and bid to targeting and ads, and submit it for review.

A campaign is one ad format, one pricing model and one or more ads. You build it in a five-step form at /app/advertiser/campaigns/new: Basics, Geo, Traffic, Advanced and Ads. A summary panel beside the form shows the format, bid, daily budget, countries and number of ads as you go. After you try to save, each step tab shows how many errors it holds.

Before you start

  • Have funds on your balance. You can create a campaign without funds, but it will not buy anything. See Add funds.
  • Have your landing page or tracker campaign URL ready. If you use a tracker, add the {click_id} macro now so conversions can be matched later.
  • Check the bid floors for your countries on the traffic volume page.

Step 1: Basics

  1. Enter a Campaign name, up to 120 characters. Only you see it.
  2. Pick the Format. See Ad formats if you are unsure which one fits your offer.
  3. Pick what You pay per: impressions (CPM), clicks (CPC), conversions (CPA) or views (CPV). Only the models allowed for the chosen format are listed.
  4. Enter your Bid (USD). The help line shows the format floor. Some countries have higher floors.
  5. Choose Bidding: Pay my bid, or for CPM campaigns, Smart CPM. See Smart CPM.
  6. Set a Daily budget and, optionally, a Total budget. The current default minimum daily budget is $15, or $50 for video.
  7. Optionally set a start and an end date.

Format and pricing model cannot be changed after the campaign is created. To switch either one, create a new campaign.

Step 2: Geo

Choose All countries, Only these or All except these, then tick countries in the list. You can narrow further by region codes, such as CA-ON, and by city names.

Step 3: Traffic

Narrow by device, operating system, browser, browser language and site language. Connection type, carrier and ISP can only be excluded. See Targeting options.

Step 4: Advanced

This step holds the frequency cap, day-parting, ad-blocker and in-app browser filters, the share of eligible traffic, ad rotation, volume and conversion caps, zone allow and block lists, and rules for domains, sub-IDs, site categories and site types. All of it is optional. For a first test, a frequency cap is usually the only setting worth adding here.

Step 5: Ads

Each ad needs a Destination URL. Depending on the format, it also needs a title, an icon, an image, a banner size or a VAST URL. You can pick a file from your creatives library, or upload one from the form with Upload. Add up to 50 ads with Add another ad.

The format guides list exactly what each format needs: see the Campaigns section.

Submit

Select Create campaign. If something is missing, the form marks the field and the step tab shows the number of errors. Once saved, the campaign appears on /app/advertiser/campaigns with the status In review.

Review usually takes up to one business day. When the campaign is approved, it starts buying as long as your balance and budgets allow. See Review and approval.

After launch

  • Check Reports at /app/advertiser/reports grouped by zone or sub-ID to find sources that do not work for you, then block them from the report row. See Source lists and blocking.
  • Set up conversion tracking if you have not done so: Postback setup.
  • Use Pause and Resume on the campaigns list to stop and restart an approved campaign at any time.
