Source lists and blocking
Block weak zones and sub-IDs straight from UluMob reports, and keep saved allow and block lists you attach to many campaigns.
Optimizing a campaign mostly means finding the sources that spend without results and stopping them. UluMob gives you two tools: a Block source button on report rows, and saved source lists you can attach to any number of campaigns.
Find sources in reports
- Open Reports at
/app/advertiser/reports. - Choose a date range of up to 92 days.
- Under Group by, pick Campaign and Zone, or Campaign and Sub-ID. You can group by up to four dimensions.
- Select Run.
Each row shows impressions, clicks, conversions, cost and revenue, where revenue is the payout your postbacks reported. Use Download CSV to work on the data elsewhere.
Sub-ID and site reports come from a separate traffic-source rollup, so they cannot be combined with country, format, OS, device or ad. Zone, campaign and date work with either.
Block a source from a report
When a report row shows a zone or a sub-ID together with a campaign, either because you grouped by campaign or filtered by campaign ID, the row has a Block source button.
- Select Block source on the row.
- Confirm the prompt that names the zone or sub-ID and the campaign.
The change takes effect at once and the campaign does not go back to review.
- Zone: the zone is added to the campaign's blocked zones and removed from its allowed zones, if it was there.
- Sub-ID: the sub-ID is added to the campaign's excluded sub-IDs. If the campaign uses an "only these" sub-ID rule instead, the sub-ID is removed from that list. If it was the only sub-ID the campaign buys, blocking is refused; pause the campaign instead.
Saved source lists
A source list holds values you want to buy, or never buy, across many campaigns. Manage them at /app/advertiser/lists.
| List type | Items |
|---|---|
| Zones to avoid | Zone IDs, for example 1042 |
| Only these zones | Zone IDs |
| Sites to avoid | Domains, for example news.example.com |
| Only these sites | Domains |
| Sub-IDs to avoid | Sub-ID values |
| Only these sub-IDs | Sub-ID values |
| ISPs to avoid | ISP names |
| IPs to block | IPv4 or IPv6 addresses, or CIDR ranges |
| Only these IPs | IPv4 or IPv6 addresses, or CIDR ranges |
IP lists are available only as saved lists, not in the campaign form.
Create a list
- Open
/app/advertiser/listsand select New list. - Enter a Name and choose What it lists.
- Paste the items, one per line. A list holds up to 10,000 items.
- Under Use in campaigns, tick the campaigns that should use it.
- Select Save list.
If a line is not valid for the list type, for example a domain in a zone list, the form names the line.
How lists combine with campaigns
- A list applies on top of the campaign's own targeting. Every rule must pass.
- Editing a list updates every campaign that uses it, straight away.
- Deleting a list removes its rules from every campaign that used it.
- The list type cannot be changed after it is created. Create a new list instead.
Allow lists versus block lists
Block lists are the safer default: they remove known bad sources and leave the rest of the inventory open. An allow list ("only these") makes every other source ineligible, so a campaign with a short allow list can stop buying almost entirely. Use allow lists for proven sources on a separate campaign, and keep your testing campaign open.
