Postback to your tracker

Send every conversion of your links to your own tracker or traffic network, with the macros, templates for Keitaro, Voluum, Binom, RedTrack and BeMob, and the postback log.

A postback is a request we send to your tracker or traffic network when a conversion of your links is recorded, approved or rejected. Your tracker then knows which of its clicks converted and what you earned, and a traffic network can optimise your campaigns on it.

Set it up at /app/affiliate/postback.

How it works

  1. When you send traffic, put your tracker's or network's click ID into a sub ID of the link, usually sub1. A traffic network preset in the link form does this for you.
  2. Add a postback URL that sends that sub ID back, for example https://tracker.example/postback?subid={sub1}&payout={payout}&status={status}.
  3. Tick the events to send. Each ticked status is sent once per conversion.
Event Sent when
Pending the advertiser reported the conversion and it waits for the offer's hold
Approved the hold ended, or the advertiser or our team approved it
Rejected the advertiser or our team rejected it
Rebill also send rebill conversions (each renewal of a subscription), on the statuses ticked

Pending and approved are ticked by default. Unsubscribe events are never sent.

The postbacks on the Postback page are your defaults: every link and smartlink without its own uses them. To send one link somewhere else, open the link (Edit and formats) and choose Own postbacks for this link under Postback, or None to send nothing for that link. An account may have 20 postback URLs in total, the defaults and those of every link together.

Macros

Each macro is replaced with its value, URL-encoded. Anything else in braces is sent as it is.

Macro Value
{sub1} … {sub5} the sub IDs of the click ({sub1} is usually your tracker's click ID)
{click_id} our click ID
{offer_id}, {offer_name} the offer
{event} lead, sale, rebill, install or deposit
{status} pending, approved or rejected
{payout} your payout for the conversion, e.g. 1.6000
{currency} the currency of the payout, e.g. USD
{conversion_id} our conversion ID, the same on every status of one conversion
{tx_id} the advertiser's transaction ID
{geo} the country of the click (ISO code)
{source} the name of the link's traffic source
{link_id} the link
{timestamp} the time of the postback (Unix seconds)

If your tracker expects other status names (for example sale instead of approved), add one postback per status with the name written in the URL, such as ...&status=sale with only Approved ticked.

Trackers

Fill from a template puts a ready-made URL in place. Replace the CAPITAL parts with the domain and key your tracker shows, and check the parameter names in the tracker before going live.

Tracker Template
Keitaro https://KEITARO_DOMAIN/POSTBACK_KEY/postback?subid={sub1}&status={status}&payout={payout}&currency={currency}&tid={conversion_id}
Voluum https://VOLUUM_DOMAIN/postback?cid={sub1}&payout={payout}&txid={conversion_id}&et={status}
Binom https://BINOM_DOMAIN/click.php?cnv_id={sub1}&payout={payout}&cnv_status={status}
RedTrack https://REDTRACK_DOMAIN/postback?clickid={sub1}&sum={payout}&type={status}
BeMob https://BEMOB_DOMAIN/postback?cid={sub1}&payout={payout}&txid={conversion_id}&status={status}

In the tracker, use your link as the offer URL and add the tracker's own click ID macro as sub1, e.g. .../go/abc123?sub1={clickid}.

Traffic networks

To report conversions straight to a traffic network (for its conversion tracking or CPA bidding), use the network's postback URL. Pick the network's preset in the link form first, so that its click ID lands in sub1.

Network Template (YOUR_… parts come from the network panel)
PropellerAds http://ad.propellerads.com/conversion.php?aid=YOUR_AID&pid=&tid=YOUR_TID&visitor_id={sub1}&payout={payout}
Adsterra http://www.pbterra.com/YOUR_NAME/YOUR_USERNAME/at?subid_short={sub1}&atpay={payout}
Clickadu http://sconvtrk.com/conversion/YOUR_HASH/?aid=YOUR_AID&visitor_id={sub1}
RichAds http://xml.auxml.com/log?action=conversion&key={sub1}&price={payout}
EvaDav https://evadav.com/phpb?click_id={sub1}&payout={payout}
Kadam https://kdtrk.net/ru/postback/?data={sub1}&cost={payout}&currency={currency}&key={conversion_id}
TrafficStars https://tsyndicate.com/api/v1/cpa/action?key=YOUR_KEY&clickid={sub1}&value={payout}
ExoClick http://s.magsrv.com/tag.php?goal=YOUR_GOAL_ID&tag={sub1}&value={payout}

HilltopAds, Zeropark and the other networks accept postbacks too, but their address depends on your account: copy the postback URL from your network panel and put {sub1} where its click ID goes. Every network may change its format, so compare with your network panel before you go live.

Test postback

Send test postback sends the URL once at once, with sample values (sub1 is test-sub1, status approved, payout 1.0000, offer 0). The answer shows next to the button and in the log, marked Test.

The postback log

The log below the settings shows every try: when, which link and conversion, the URL with its values, the HTTP status, the time it took, and the first 500 characters of the answer. Filter by result, HTTP status, link, conversion or date; open a row for the details.

  • A postback counts as delivered when your tracker answers with a 2xx status. Redirects are not followed.
  • Anything else is tried again up to 5 times: 60 seconds after the first try, then twice as long each time. Each try is its own row.
  • Your tracker has 10 seconds to answer.
  • The log is kept for 30 days.

For security, postbacks go only to public addresses: a host that resolves to a private or reserved address is refused, both when you save it and when it is sent.
