mVAS (mobile value-added services)
mVAS are paid mobile content subscriptions, such as games, quizzes or video clubs, charged to the subscriber through their mobile carrier.
How it works
A mobile operator lets content providers charge subscribers directly on their phone bill or prepaid balance. The visitor reaches a landing page, usually identified as a customer of a specific carrier by their IP address, and confirms a subscription with one or two taps or a code sent by text message. The charge then recurs daily, weekly or monthly until they cancel.
Because the payment step is so short, carriers and regulators set firm rules: the price and billing period must be visible before the confirming tap, consent must be explicit, and cancelling must be possible. Flows that subscribe people without a clear action lead to refunds, blocked services and complaints. The rules differ by country and by carrier.
Example
Advertisers usually pay per subscription. If 10,000 carrier-targeted clicks at $0.004 cost $40 and 80 visitors subscribe, the cost per subscription is $40 / 80 = $0.50.
On UluMob
mVAS offers suit interstitial and push traffic. Use carriers and connection_types targeting to reach mobile-data users on the operators your flow supports, and pass {carrier} to your tracker. The price and subscription terms must appear before the confirming tap, and auto-subscribe is not allowed. Local licensing, carrier and consumer rules apply, and every campaign and ad is reviewed before it serves.
