CPM (cost per mille)
CPM is the price an advertiser pays for one thousand ad impressions, whether or not anyone clicks.
How it works
"Mille" is Latin for thousand. A CPM bid is a price per thousand impressions, but the charge is applied per impression: at a $2.00 CPM, each impression costs $0.002.
Cost = impressions / 1000 × CPM
CPM pricing leaves performance risk with the advertiser: you pay for exposure, and turning it into clicks and sales is up to your creative and landing page. It suits formats where showing the ad is the main event, such as popunders, banners, interstitials and video, and buyers who know their conversion rate well enough to work out a profitable CPM.
Example
You expect one sale per 2,000 popunder opens and earn $4 per sale, so each thousand opens is worth $2.00. Any CPM below $2.00 is profitable before other costs. At a $1.20 CPM, 100,000 opens cost $120 and should bring about 50 sales, or $200.
On UluMob
CPM is available for popunder, banner, interstitial, domain redirect, video and Telegram campaigns. You are charged when the ad renders, not when it is requested: when half of it is on screen, when a banner or video beacon fires, or when a popunder opens. Default floors run from $0.05 (banner) to $0.50 (redirect and video); a higher country floor on the traffic volume page takes precedence. The Smart CPM strategy pays one cent above the next-highest bid, never more than your own.
