Web traffic
Web traffic is the flow of visits a website or landing page receives, measured in sessions, page views and unique visitors.
How it works
Every visit carries information: where it came from (a referrer, a campaign parameter, or nothing at all for typed visits), which device and browser it used, the country inferred from its IP address, and what it did on the page. Analytics tools turn this into counts of sessions, page views and unique visitors, broken down by source.
For advertisers, raw volume matters less than quality. Part of all web traffic is automated: crawlers, scripts and click fraud. Ad networks filter some of it before billing, and advertisers check the rest by comparing their own analytics with the network's reports. A large gap between counted clicks and landing-page sessions is a reason to look closely at a placement.
Example
A campaign reports 1,000 clicks and your analytics shows 920 sessions. An 8% gap can be explained by visitors who close the tab before the page loads. If one zone shows 400 clicks and only 90 sessions, that zone needs a closer look, and possibly a block.
On UluMob
UluMob does not bill traffic our filters mark as bot or flood traffic. It also limits how often one IP address can request ads from a zone or follow clicks; activity beyond that is treated as scripted and gets no ad and no charge. Click links are signed and single-use, so a repeat visit still reaches your page but is not billed again. See available inventory by country on the traffic volume page.
