Postback URL
A postback URL is a server-to-server callback that reports a conversion to the ad network, matched to the original click by its click ID.
How it works
- When someone clicks, the ad network creates a unique click ID and adds it to your landing page URL.
- Your tracker or site keeps that ID with the visitor through the funnel.
- When the visitor converts, your server calls the network's postback URL with the same ID.
Because the call goes from server to server, it does not depend on cookies, browser settings or the visitor staying on the page. It is the standard way to report conversions for CPA billing and for optimization.
A postback should be authenticated. Otherwise anyone who learns the URL format could report fake conversions, and a misconfigured tracker could report one sale twice.
On UluMob
Add {click_id} (alias {tracking}) to your destination URL. On conversion, call:
/postback?click_id=...&conv_type=A&payout=25.00&tx_id=ORDER-991&token=...
token is a hex HMAC-SHA256, keyed with your postback secret, over click_id, conv_type, payout and tx_id sorted by key; a bad signature is refused. Each click counts once per conversion type unless the type allows repeats, and by default clicks accept conversions for 7 days. CPA campaigns are charged their bid; payout is for reporting. Full steps are in postback setup.
