Affiliate marketing

Affiliate marketing is a model where independent partners promote an advertiser's offer and earn a commission for each sale, lead or deposit.

How it works

Three parties take part: the advertiser who owns the product, the affiliate who sends customers, and usually an affiliate program or network that tracks results and pays commissions. The affiliate gets a tracking link, promotes it through content, email, social media or paid traffic, and earns a payout when a defined action happens: a sale, a lead, an install or a deposit.

Affiliates who buy paid traffic are doing arbitrage. They pay a traffic source per impression or per click and earn per action, and the difference is their profit. That makes accurate tracking from click to conversion essential: without it, the affiliate cannot tell which placements earn and which lose.

Example

An affiliate earns $12 per sale. They buy 50,000 popunder opens at a $1.00 CPM, which costs $50, and make 6 sales worth $72. Profit = $72 − $50 = $22, and ROAS = 72 / 50 = 1.44.

On UluMob

UluMob works with any tracker that accepts URL parameters. Put {click_id} in the destination URL next to the affiliate program's own parameters, then forward each conversion from your tracker to UluMob's postback, so both sides count the same result. The {cost} macro passes each click's price to your tracker for profit reporting, and traffic our filters mark as bot or flood traffic is not billed.
